Jazzmin - White Arabian Mare -1985

Liese Rios, the 10 year old daughter of our co-president Jennifer Rios, recently established a challenge grant after meeting and falling in love with Jazzmin at the shelter. She donated $75 of the money she had saved to Jazzmin's care.
Her letter was recently published in our summer newsletter.
In response to her letter, the donors that have met or surpassed her challenge of $75 are:

Liese and Jennifer Rios, Carole Berger, Carol Walters, Jay Ritter, Carole Garland, Gloria Moss, Barbara and Thomas McCarthy, Patricia Knutson and Leigh Newman, Arlen Sarkissian, Jack Fisher, Ronald Finn, Maria O'Farrell, Jacqueline Mars, Jeanne Milholland

If you would like to match her challenge please
All of our horses are available to be sponsored until they are adopted. Please join our growing list of sponsors and make a difference for these magnificent and special need horses. The minimum monthly cost to support a horse has recently increased to approximately $300 due to rising hay prices. We welcome donations at any level.

With individuals each contributing a manageable amount, together as a group they can support a horse. We encourage businesses, schools, neighborhoods, and organizations to form sponsorship groups. For more information please contact us for help getting organized and support.

Chance -  Mustang Mix - 2004

Chance as seen on KOAT TV, was abandoned in Placitas with what appeared to be signs of mistreatment and wandered into the hearts of the neighborhood. When we were called to step in and help this beautiful gelding have a second chance, the neighbors decided to name him "Chance".

Wobbles - Black Gelding - 2006

Wobbles has a neurological disease called Wobbler's Disease. It makes him unstable and unbalanced when moving. The best thing about Wobbles is his great attitude, he has no idea he has a disability. You should see how enthusiastic he is when you show up with a bag of carrots! He is a really happy, good natured horse and really loved by all!
Wobbles is still young, untrained and is not able to be ridden, so he will most likely spend the rest of his life with us.

If you would like to help with his care at any level please
